Joe & Anna’s Wedding, Old Brampton Church, Hassop Hall, Derbyshire

It seems like summer is slipping away and what a busy summer it has been. So busy, I am way behind with my postings! So now to catch up. Joe and Anna were married in June. With rain and howling gales it was a typical Derbyshire wedding photographer’s summer day! Flitting in between the bride getting ready, the groom getting ready, then moving on to Old Brampton Church to catch people arriving. Joe & Anna are full of fun and wanted to have a shot on top of Curbar Edge. Not a place to go with your Jimmy Choos,but we had prepared and I had their wellies in my car! Dont think Suzanne Neville imagined pink wellies with her dresses!

To say it was windy is an understatement! So windy in fact, it almost blew off a false eye-lash; Told you not to wear them Joe! A few quick shots and some emergency bridesmaid attention back at Hassop and all was well again. Some quick family shots and bish bash bosh – to the reception. I love capturing the expressions on people’s faces during the speeches – always entertaining! Then to the dancing – great first dance !

Martin & Nina, Wedding Photography Hathersage, Derbyshire

After a quick cycle ride in the Peak District to get nice and hot what better to do than get married? What happened to the Groom just going to the pub? Martin is a man of action! Nina meanwhile, was getting ready surrounded by her bridesmaids and flower girls. No stress – well apart from the big struggle putting in the veil. Very often I end up doing Dad’s cravat or putting in his button hole but putting the veil on the bride was a first for me. Off to Hathersage Church – where Martin sat anxiously. Hathersage Church is a beautiful old piece of Derbyshire history – Little John of Robin Hood fame is buried there you know – not sure though looks a little too small for a bear and would have been a hell of a walk from Sherwood Forest.

Dodging the showers we managed a quick shot out at Stannedge Edge, Peak District with their VW Camper Van wedding car then off to the Golf Club for the reception. From then on the sun shone making the Golf Course a perfect kids playground!

Mallorca Wedding – Damien & Maeve, Deia and Hotel Valldemossa

Just returned from a great wedding in Mallorca. Damien & Maeve were married in the beautiful hill-top church of Deia accompanied by their family and friends from Dublin. Such a lovely couple and family it was a pleasure to provide the wedding photography for them especially in such a gorgeous setting.

Last week I had the pleasure to photograph a christening of a beautiful Italian baby – Francesco Bruno right here in Sheffield. A simple catholic christening ceremony followed by a celebration meal at Hassop Hall, Derbyshire.

There are going to be several photos like these over the coming year as we have won an exciting project for a large legal firm. The project is to provide photographic wall art. The images will be floor to ceiling, massive walls up to 7m long! Depicting favourite places in and around Sheffield and the Peak District. If you have any good ideas – let us know!

We have partnered up with our mates at Pinders of Sheffield to provide the printing and installation. There will be a selection of images from Derbyshire Peak District through to Urban Sheffield. Here is one of them looking from the top of the City Lofts.
